Sally Rose

Bio
The Sally Rose Band is “the most spirited mother/daughter fronted group you will ever encounter”, said Adam Gripp of Magazine 33. Sally Rose, the young and vibrant starlet writes original and eclectic songs while Catherine “Shootin’ Moon” Monnes sews in colorful notes and tasteful textures. They cover a vast range of genres from southern rock, to gypsy folk, to doo-wop inspired honky-tonk. Sally Rose (Nelson County, VA) sings most influenced by Bonnie Raitt, Sheryl Crow, Dianna Ross and Jenny Lewis. Catherine bows a fiddle, cello & spine-tingling electric violin. Holding down the beat is Benjamin Jensen on drums and Chris Dammann on a jazz style upright bass. “Sweet Pete” Stallings adds undeniable funk and classic rock undertones with his vintage Telecaster. Together they all sing hauntingly beautiful, blood harmonies that intertwine seamlessly. Sally Rose’s music twirls, it shines, it tip-toes & seduces, you’ll fall in love & get drunk off of it. It’ll melt your heart, and break you down…
Sally Rose released two solo records “Home” (2008) and “Heat Lightning” (2012) and a live record the following year. In June of 2013 the band released “Oh My Stars! EP”. The album was recorded and produced by Jesse Fiske (Hackensaw Boys) at Single Barrel Studio. That summer, The SRB released a music video for radio hit, “Bones”. The video was shot & directed by Emmy award winning Johnny St. Ours of Pireus Films. Since releasing Oh My Stars! the band has hit the ground running. The SRB has been touring up and down the east coast, playing institutional venues such as The Jefferson Theater, Fridays After Five at The Ntelos Wireless Pavilion, Mercury Lounge (NYC) and rocking hot festivals such as LOCKN’ Festival. Sally Rose has shared the stage with renowned artists Old 97’s, Charles Bradley, Old Crow Medicine Show, Taj Majal, Susan Tedschi and many more. At LOCKN’ (September 2014) The SRB was on the bill with legends Wilco, Grace Potter, The Allman Brothers, Tom Petty and Willie Nelson. This coming year the band will be recording at Sound Of Music Studio in Richmond, VA and working with Lauren Hoffman as a producer.
